Pendry Washington DC – The Wharf is a waterfront hotel within an exciting mixed-use neighbourhood overlooking the Washington Channel and Potomac River. In harmony with the contemporary building by ODA Architecture, and drawing on the many deep connections between Paris and Washington, D.C., DesignAgency realized the hotel’s vibrant public spaces and upscale amenities, including a cocktail bar, pool terrace, spa and fitness centre, plus event spaces. The studio also developed the brand identity and designed the interiors for the hotel’s signature dining destinations: restaurant Flora Flora and rooftop lounge Moonraker.

Interiors express a classic-meets-modern sensibility inspired by grandeur, ornamentation, and lived-in feel of Parisian Modern style. In both the public and private spaces, hallmarks of boutique residential design and European-inspired luxury artfully balance the desire for comfort with the delight of surprise. The intimate lobby is warm and welcoming, with a vintage French Louis XVI Carrera marble mantel signaling Pendry’s luxurious approach. In guest rooms, a strategic layering of soft forms and plush textures leaves guests feeling cradled in luxury.
