History Ottawa re-energizes the ByWard Market neighbourhood of Canada’s capital city. Our design for the two-storey, 2000-person capacity live music venue builds on the success of our creative concept for the original History location in Toronto, translating it to suit Ottawa’s distinct character and status. Located in an art deco building that once housed a Chapters, History Ottawa features luxurious brass accents, immersive lighting, warm tones and an exclusive VIP Lounge that delivers an intimate and dynamic experience within the larger environment.
VIP Lounge
Inspired by James Turrell’s light-centric art installations, as seen in Drake’s “Hotline Bling” music video, our design for the VIP lounge at History Ottawa uses colour, light, and enticing sightlines to create a space where music and architecture intertwine. The interior features a showstopping DJ booth, a built-in large scale disco ball, intimate lounge seating, and immersive lighting that combine to create a dynamic space for private events, pre-show gatherings, and after-parties.
