Broadview Hotel

Built in 1891 as the offices for Dingman’s soap factory, the Romanesque building at Queen and Broadview in Toronto, Canada, was converted years later into a hotel and then, following a steady decline, it became the infamous Jilly’s Strip Club.

Working with the owners Streetcar Developments, DesignAgency designed all the communal areas, restaurants and cafes spaces, roof terrace and rooms. This 58-room boutique hotel hosts The Broadview Café and Bar, Civic restaurant, Lincoln Hall and Lincoln Terrace, with a private dining room located in the building’s historic tower. ERA Architects handled architecture duties on the overall restoration.

This iconic landmark now hosts bespoke furniture and lighting pieces and well as being sympathetically updated, restoring the building to its former character. The mood of the spaces feels contemporary, thoughtful, laid-back and comforting.
